Pari Henna Body Art

There's something about henna that just screams summer to me! It gets me in the mood to head to a festival and dress like a boho queen all season long! I got the great opportunity again this year to get some beautiful henna done by the amazing Parinita Verma of Pari Henna Body Art!

Parinita has over 10 years of henna experience and she gets better every year! Henna is an all natural temporary "tattoo", also known as mehndi, derived from India. The henna paste used for this process is made from twigs and leaves from the henna plant with all natural staining properties. Parinita has her own recipe which is uses for paste, all free of harmful chemicals and dyes, which means it is safe to use on all skins types! Henna goes on first as a paste, then the paste is to be left on for a few hours to stain the skin (the longer you leave the paste on the darker your henna will be!), then after a few hours it hardens and starts to flake off and underneath it will be left a light orange rust color. As the henna oxidizes it gets darker, so you'll see the true color of the henna after about 1-2 days. Henna generally lasts about 2 weeks and if you'd like to keep your henna from fading the key is not to exfoliate the skin in which the henna was applied and while the henna is drying to make sure your body temperature is warm plus keeping the henna paste on for as long as possible during the drying process.

Henna is applied free hand by Parinita and she does such an amazing job! I gave her some inspiration photos, picked out a few things I wanted to include in the design and she created this beautiful artwork on my arm and hand. I'm so in love with it! Check out the amazing piece she did on me and check out her Facebook and Instagram pages as well! Support your local girl gang and give her a follow and set up some time to get your own Henna art!

ethereal.boutique launch party

THE DAY HAS COME!! etherealboutique.ca will be launching at 12:00pm NLT, March 21! That's today! I can't even believe it! I have limited quantities in all items as I purchased in lower quantities so you guys get your hands on more exclusive pieces that are unique to ethereal.boutique customers. So if you see something you like, get it! Because I may only have 1-2 in each size available. BUT thats a good thing, then everyone doesn't even up with the same things! Which is what I am 100% about! Also, I've named some of the pieces after people in my life that the item reminds me of them! <3  So get ready to get your shop on tomorrow!
Also, make sure you sign up for the newsletter to get a coupon code for 10% off your first purchase!
So, of course with the launch of a new business comes a launch party!! They just go hand in hand! Before the launch of my new online business, I decided that I wanted to have a little party with my close family and friends to congratulate myself on finally getting out there and making my dream come true!

The night before entailed lots of organization, tag making and attaching and of course trying on all the clothes! With the help of my amazing sister, Gill, and my two supportive friends, Jess and Kait, they really helped make the event a success for me! So a huge thank you goes out to those ladies!

I had the Rocket Room at Rocket Bakery rented out for the event and we had such a great time!! Everyone trying on the clothes and the jewellery, making some purchases and chatting! I named a few pieces after my friends who the clothing reminded me of them, and they got to try and buy those pieces for themselves before I launched! And we had my baby friend, Emma, enjoying the lemonade stand and attempting to try on the clothes!

Jess was my first purchase of the day!! Thank you so much Jess for supporting me!

Erin, Emma and Chantel. Few ethereal babes who showed up for the party!

The emma romper <3 named after my friend emma because it reminds me of her!

Wynter in the wynter coat <3
Kirsten layered the kirsten dress with a plain white tee. We loveee!! (I originally had this called the abbott dress, but it looked too much like Kirst that I had to rename it!!)

Gillian in the gillian romper. She shows that rompers are not just for the summer!

Myself and the talented Daniela Fougere! Daniela is the local jewelry maker who creates all of the jewelry for Ethereal Boutique, she hand makes all of the pieces locally here in St. John's and she is so incredibly amazing at what she does! All the pieces that Daniela makes for the store are exclusive to Ethereal Boutique, but she also has her own Etsy shop where you can purchase more of her amazing pieces! Be sure to check it out and give her a follow in instagram @danielafougerejewlery and facebook

I want to thank everyone who came out to check out the clothes and who helped me get to where I am today and who helped make my dream come to life! I've wanted to own my own business for a very long time now, and I'm so unbelievably proud of myself for getting out there and doing it. Despite the economy in NL, I want to prove to myself and to the people out there who thought I wouldn't amount to anything, the people who thought that me working at the mall was so beneath them and that I wasted my HR diploma, that I am a hard working, confident and positive boss babe who's never going to stop! Fashion is my life and in Newfoundland there are not many opportunities to have a career in the fashion industry, so in order to do what I love and live in the place I love I needed to create it for myself! I learned so much from my 11 years of working in the mall, in customer service and in school that will help me build Ethereal Boutique into exactly the type of business I want and that will thrive and be successful.

So anyone out there who thinks that they can't do what they love or you have people who say to you that you have a pipe dream for your career-screw 'em and get out there and do it! This is the biggest and best step I have ever taken in my career and I have never been happier! It's been a lot of hard work and I know it will always be hard work, but it's hard work that is so rewarding and encourages you to do even more! And if you have someone in your life who has a dream make sure you support the hell out of them and help them in any way that you can! I am so thankful to have such a great support team of friends and family who encourage and push me to follow my dreams! Don't live life wondering if you can, get out there and try!
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
-Mark Twain

My Aldo babes came out to support me! I love you guys! <3

Being an entrepreneur is very rewarding and scary all at the same time, you take chances, you learn from your mistakes and you grow from it. So as I'm growing I hope you can all be patient with me and stick by my side and be a part of the ethereal babe girl gang <3
Babes supporting babes. Am I right?!

Highlight: Aveda Sound Salon Spa

Last week I had the opportunity to go to Aveda Sound Salon and Spa for a facial and hair experience.
I had such a relaxing yet fun time!

Sound is a full service Aveda Lifestyle salon and spa that is located in downtown St. John's at 301 Water Street.
They offer a variety of services such as women's and mens hair styling, facials, massages, waxing, makeup application and lash extensions.
A list of their services and prices can be found on their Facebook page.

Between all the very professional and amazing staff I learned a lot about how they are an Aveda salon and spa and about the Aveda products.
Sound prides itself on being an Aveda salon spa as these products are 100% cruelty free!
Which is great for all of you animal lovers out there like myself.
Their products are not tested on animals and while the products are not certified vegetarian or vegan, majority of their products contain no animal-derived ingredients.
Aveda products are made green wherever possible with all natural ingredients and they are organic certified.
Even their packaging is made of recycled materials!
I love how environmentally friendly the Aveda products are, it gives me great relief knowing that what was going on my face and hair is made with the environment in mind.

To start my Sound Salon Spa experience I received a facial from Melissa.
It was the most relaxing experience.
I actually fell asleep during the facial it was that relaxing!
We went on a sensory journey where I got to choose the essential oil that would be included during my facial experience.
Give me anything with lavender please!
Between the hot towels, face massage, arm/hand massage and facial masks, needless to say I was so extremely relaxed.
I'm relaxed just reminiscing about it!
I highly suggest getting a facial done for your skin's health as well as your mental health.
Taking an hour just to relax and be pampered is worth every penny.
Plus your skin feels flawless for days afterwards!

One of the amazing products they suggested to me after my facial was the Wedding Masque that was used during my facial.
The name "wedding masque" is inspired by a pre-wedding Indian tradition in which a homemade turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom for glowing skin on their wedding day.
But essentially this masque is for you to have that wedding glow that creates a brighter, more radiant and even skin tone after every time you use it.
And who doesn't want that?
I literally felt like my skin was glowing the next day!
My makeup went on so flawlessly and I felt like I was glowing from the inside out.
It's not just for your wedding day, but it would be a cute little wedding pick me up for all those soon to be brides out there!

After my facial experience we moved onto to my hair.
Rae was my Aveda stylist and we had such a great time!
We didn't do a whole bunch in the way of changing up my hair color as she knows how much I love my lilac locks!
She did my roots, gave me a trim and we had such great conversation!
Which for me is key when going to a hair stylist.
I'm such a talkative person that I love having someone who carries on great conversation.
Telling stories back and forth and just having a great time in the chair!
She took me downstairs for my washout and gave me a great little scalp massage.
Such a relaxing experience!

One of the products Rae used on me was the Aveda Damage Remedy.
This product is used to repair and protect your hair from heat styling products.
It's a leave-in treatment that helps repair the integrity of your hair's surface and it helps protect against breakage and thermal damage to give you stronger, longer hair.
Something I feel any of us girls or guys who uses heat products on our hair needs!
Less damage and breakage=longer hair
That is something I can 100% get on board with!
