Don't Forget to Sparkle: Sooley Designs Spring/Summer Fashion Show*

This weekend I was lucky enough to receive VIP tickets for the Sooley Designs Spring/Summer Fashion Show!

Megan Sooley is a local designer from St. John's who started her own fashion line, Sooley Designs. She first started selling her items at local shops in St. John's, most people know to buy her items at Ballistic Skate and Snow in downtown St. John's! When I worked at Ballistic in the summer of 2013 her clothes were like the only thing I would buy!! I would get so excited every time she would bring down new items! Her stuff used to fly out of there (and still does!) and I am so proud of her now for opening her own Studio downtown!

So since we had VIP tickets for the Fashion show obviously I had to go shopping! Since it was the Sooley Designs Fashion Show you then obviously have to wear a Sooley Designs piece!! I already own a few of her pieces that would have been appropriate for the event...but another one couldn't hurt right?! So myself, Nicole and Kaitlyn decided to go down to Megan's Studio and try some things on!

Her studio has this amazing vintage meets classy atmosphere, with the old rotary phone, classic suitcases, vintage teacups and cowhide rugs! LOVE IT!

The worst part about trying things on is that you just want it all!!! Especially all of her pieces! I pretty much fell in love with everything I put on my body!!!

Myself and Kailtyn had a little battle over the Floral wrap dress, but she looked so stunning in it I couldn't let her not buy it! So I was lucky enough that Megan had another wrap dress there that just needed to be sewed, so I just had to buy it!! Wrap dresses are so practical too! Like such a great investment!

Megan was telling us that she had a customer come in and buy a few wrap dresses off of her and the customer told her that the Sooley Designs wrap dresses fit better than Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dresses!

DVF was the creator of the wrap dress-that right there is the best compliment you can get!!

Tell me her bags aren't the cutest!

This wrap dress actually made me feel so amazing!! The way it hits your waist cinches you in at the smallest part of you and the neck line doesn't show off the girls too much! Thats my kind of dress right there!!

I also got my friend Shawn to pick me up some pieces from the new Aldo Rise-Misha Nonoo collection for the event! He was luckily coming home for a visit from Toronto the day before the show so it worked out perfectly!!

I have to say, the Fashion Show was AMAZING!!! The runway was lined out in real roses, the lighting was super cool, there was a bar that was making drinks in the back and an oyster bar in the corner (all oysters being shucked on the spot by the Adelaide Oyster House), all so cute!

Her entire Spring/Summer line is actually to die for! Like give me all the money so I can just buy the whole collection!

My favorite from the whole fashion show was this white two piece! Like...hella amazing!! That little key hole on the top gave it such a soft, elegant, sexy look-I'm so in love with it! The fabric was embossed with this subtle pattern too, like so sophisticated and sexy! Who wants to buy it for me?!

The fabrics used for the Spring/Summer line were all so beautiful!! And the coolest part about her fabrics is that they come from all over the world! From France to Montreal to New York-always coming from somewhere amazing!

After the show we there was of course some shopping to be done! She brought out all the pieces from the fashion show and then the rest of her collection as well! So some free drinks and shopping-what's really better than that?!

Naturally we had to try some things on, and Nicole landed these two amazing dresses that I just can't get enough of!!

I've got to say my friends looked HOT that night!! Everyone in Sooley Designs of course!

I have to say I was so impressed with the Spring/Summer line! Like can I just have all of it? Is being completely poor but having all these amazing dresses acceptable? ...I think it is!

I'm so proud of you Megan and the progress you've made in the past few years since I've known you! You are truly an inspiration to any aspiring fashion designer or entrepreneur! It's not very often you come across a beautiful, outgoing, sweet girl like you who has the passion to really go for what they want! Keep it up girl! You're on fire!!!!
