Highlight: Parihenna Body Art

I'm digging all the boho fashion that is so in right now!
Everything is so directed to the fashion go-ers of Coachella, Oshega and other summer festivals!
And those boho vibes don't have to stop at your clothes, it can be translated onto your skin as well!

I had the pleasure of getting this amazing henna done the other day by Parinita of Parihenna Body Art.
Parinita has 10 years of henna experience under her belt and my goodness does it ever show.
She did this amazing henna free hand!
I gave her a design and she went with it!
So impressed with her skills!

For those of you who aren't familiar with henna body art I'll give you a little overview of the process.
Henna is a paste made from crushed leaves from a henna plant, that paste is then put into a piping bag and used to apply on the skin.
The henna paste hardens then after a few hours it stains the skin to give a tattoo like appearance.
Henna stays on the skin for ~2 weeks as a temporary tattoo.
Henna can be put on many parts of the body, most popular being on the hands.
Henna is a temporary tattoo which is great for those of you who want to experiment with tattoos but don't want to make the full commitment!
It's 100% natural and not harmful to the skin whatsoever!
When it's first applied to the skin it dries as a very dark brown color, and as the harden paste falls off the color underneath becomes a light orange color and progressively turns a darker orange-brown color.

Henna on my hand after a few days

Parinita applied gold sparkle henna onto my design as a cute little additive while it dried and hardened.
The gold henna doesn't stain the skin, it's just a decorative feature while you're going through the hardening/staining process.

Parinita has some serious talent!
In 2012 she won the Venture of the Year award from the Provincial Youth Ventures Committee.
Along with talent she is a very knowledgable and genuine!
She makes her own henna paste that she uses on her clients, as well she assembles henna kits that she sells for those who want to try it on themselves at home!

If you'd like to set up a time with Parinita to get yourself some henna body art check her out on her facebook page and instagram!
I know I'll be heading back again soon!!
