My debut into the blogging world!

So...my goals for 2015 were to
1. Eat better (I mean...who's isn't?)
2. Be more punctual (yeah...I'm still working on that) 
and
3. Start a fashion blog!

So here I am!!! Only 3 months later, but I finally did it!
I kept saying to myself that I didn't have time to do a blog, which in reality - is a lie. 
If I have time to sit on the couch and watch the full series Friends for the 157th time in my life, I have time to sit down write about the thing I love most... FASHION!!

To start.. Welcome to my blog!! I've never really had one of these before except for writing journals on Bluekaffee when I was like 16. So this will be a great learning experience for me and I can't wait to get this all started!

Here's a little about me and my background. My name is Megan, and I live in the most unfashionable city in Canada... St. John's, Newfoundland. I mean, it's a beautiful city thats filled with culture and beautiful landscapes, but it lacks in the fashion department. 

We have exactly 2 malls in this city, one if which I have worked in for almost 10 years now. I practically live there. I've worked everywhere in the mall, from Footlocker to West 49, to my current place of work - Aldo, the leading company in footwear and accessories in the WORLD!! I honestly think if I never worked at Aldo I wouldn't have the passion for fashion that I do! This company constantly supports you in expressing your own sense of style and for helping you grow with current trends. It's really a phenomenal company to work for if you are truly interested in fashion! I'm currently doing the Manager in Training program, training to be the Manager of the new Aldo Accessories store that is opening in the summer. I've been with this company for 4 years now, and I have literally held every position that you can take there from Full Time Sales Lead to Stock. There's been multiple times I've worked at Aldo while also working at other places including David's Tea, Envy, and Ballistic, but I always go back to Aldo. It's like home for me <3

But enough about work! Here's a little more about me. I am the youngest of a two sibling family. I have a sister, Gill, and we are like chalk and cheese (I'm not sure if that's a Newfie thing to say or not.. But we are complete opposites!) She's a lab tech who's passionate about science, and she's tall, beautiful with a big gorgeous smile! Me on the other hand... I live to shop, I barely passed high school chem, I'm about 5'5 and I needed braces. But together we are equally as loud, caring and share the same love for puppies! Sometimes I don't know if either of us will ever have children - we'll just have our fur babies instead. 

Another little fun fact about me is that I am pretty much an 85 year old woman at heart. I bowl in a league on Thursday nights with my sister and my Mom & Dad (our team name is the Flamingos, like how cool is that?) , I have a great love for tea, my knee and hip act up when it gets cold outside, I go to drive-in Bingo in the summer and I say things like "oh goodness!" on a regular basis. I like to think its part of my charm. 

I also have a very very handsome boyfriend, Thomas, who is equally into fashion as I am-which I love!! Sometimes he can put together an outfit for me better than I can. He can also pull off anything fashion wise. Like he looks great in everything. Which is so frustrating on those days when you feel like you don't look good in anything! He also buys me the greatest surprise presents! I mean... I'll take the new light pink trench coat from RW&co. any day! He really does spoil me! Thanks again babe :) You the best.

I also have the most amazing parents in the world and I wouldn't be where I am today without them! They support me in every that I do and help me out whenever I need it! I may be bias, but I honestly have the best parents in the world!! (My dad also buys me scratch tickets from time to time in hopes I win so I can buy myself some treats. I mean.. That's pretty fun!)

One thing you'll learn about me is that I love anything that sparkles or shines...or glitters! I'm like a walking sparkle at most times. I have everything from full sequins trousers, to glitter sneakers, to huge fully gemmed statement necklaces. Sparkling is my thing. And fur!! Who doesn't love fur? Faux or real...I need all the fur in my wardrobe. I actually have a designated "Fur Drawer" in my dresser for all my fur vests. I've also managed to build quite a large shoe and accessory collection since working at Aldo! It's actually getting out of hand. I need to move out so I can build myself a walk in closet for all my shoes and clothes. 

I'm also the biggest bargain hunter out there. Like the steals I find will blow your mind. It's like the fashion Gods reward my constant shopping addiction with amazing deals, because I luck into so many great finds! Now don't get my wrong, I love things from this season and I still buy things regular price when they come out. But you have to admit...there's just something about finding last years color of the Kate Spade Wellesley bag at Winners for half the price that makes you feel great inside. Like am I right? Sales and fab finds are just the cherry on top of a great shopping day. 

I've seriously come a long way in my fashion life. I've gone through so many fashion stages. I went through a phase when I was about 7 where all I wore was black and my mother referred to this stage as my "Johnny Cash" phase. I would wear black leggings, with a black shirt with my amazing 725 Originals clunky black shoe. I thought I pretty cool.
Then during those awkward preteen years I was a tomboy and I all I wore was Adidas ripaways, Brooks track suits and Reebok sneakers. Moving onto high school, I was this weird hybrid of skater girl/emo/scene kid. Like full on black teased hair, Circa skate sneakers, skinny jeans and a hoodie with a Blink 182 patch on it. Just that typical looking Myspace kid who took all the selfies. Then after high school I was a mix of still kinda skater girl, but girly at the same time. I was in fashion limbo at the time. I didn't really know what was up with my style. 

But then I turned into whatever I am now! 

I wanna say Fashionista...?? 

I just love being up on the latest trends and wearing whatever is new in for this year!! It's so fun to put together outfits everyday, except for those days where I just can't figure out what to put on my body. I feel bad for my room that day.

So, my plan for this blog is to share with all of you my favourite weekly outfits, my shopping adventures, beauty tips and my life. I hope to inspire each and every one of you with your outfits and I want to be here to encourage you to be adventurous and fun when it comes to getting dressed everyday!
