Ray-bans + Mock Necks

I wish St. John's had more places to shop! I mean it would be great for my closet but terrible for my wallet! I was in Montreal this weekend for about a day and a bit and managed to spend all the money on clothes in like 4 hours! They just have so much more than us!! It's hard not to buy everything you want because you know you can't go back and get it later!

Being the winner of the Spring/Summer 2015 Best Dressed Contest for Aldo Canada/US/UK, Aldo hooked me up with a trip to Montreal, some time at Aldo Head Office and a little bit of spending money for myself! Thank you Aldo!!! :)  I had such a great time while I was there!!! I left St. John's Thursday afternoon and I arrived in Montreal that night. With my lack of sense of direction and nervousness to talk to anyone in the airport, I wandered around the airport for a half an hour trying to find the place where you get the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Like couldn't find it anywhere!!! I googled it, I texted people, did everything but ask someone in the airport (I'm a tad stubborn at times!) ...But apparently this airport has 2 levels for cars, shuttles and busses. If you've ever been in the St. John's Airport you will know that it is the smallest thing in the entire world and that it's impossible to get lost, everything is just...there! So me in a large airport by myself was clearly just a terrible idea. BUT! I got through it and I've walked around Montreal airport enough now that I know exactly where everything is now! Not all was lost!

I got to spend a few hours at Aldo Head Office and it was just amazing! Have you every just felt like you belonged somewhere!? It was so cool to be surrounded by so many well dressed people and people who shared their love and passion for working for such an amazing company! So one of the first things I did when I got there was go to the Cafe to get some breakfast and a coffee. I had a McAldo for breakfast (I mean when in Rome!), which was a breakfast sandwich similar to a McMuffin, like what a cute name! I got to do a workshop with the girls from the Aldo Accessories Visual Merchandising team and got to help build a purse wall for the next visual update, which was so cool! I learned so much from them and had so much fun doing it! Visual Merchandising has always been one of my favorite things to do at any of my retail jobs and is something I would love to do in the future working with the Aldo Group. Thats definitely a goal of mine for my future!

After my VM workshop, Jess from Marketing (who has been taking care of everything for the Best Dressed Contest-Thank you again Jess for an amazing weekend!) took me on a tour of the Office and I met a lot of great people and got to hear about their jobs which was pretty cool! I also got to see the warehouse, which is humungo!! It was all so cool to see the entire Head Office, because it's always been a place I would love to visit and I'm so glad I got to have the experience of being there, especially right before the Aldo Accessories store I'll be managing will be opening! Such good timing!

When my Head Office visit was over Jess and I went shopping in downtown Montreal for a few hours. We went to Mandy's for a salad for lunch, which probably doesn't sound that amazing. But holy moly... that was literally the best salad I've ever had!!! And the interior was so adorable!! We need a gourmet salad bar like that in St. John's! Then we hit up Zara, Aritzia, H&M and the Bay(Hello Topshop!!) Jess asked me if I wanted to either go and get a drink before supper or keep shopping...naturally I chose shopping!! We don't have any of these great shops in St. John's, so I had to take advantage of being able to shop at these stores!! I got such great stuff everywhere I went, including my Raybans I got at the Bay. I put them on my face and without any hesitation bought them. They are my favorite purchase of the whole trip! The dress I'm wearing in this blog post is probably my second favorite purchase. Like why didn't I buy it in all the colors?! Kicking myself now!

After all the shopping we went to Jatoba, which serves Asian Fusion food, for supper with Sarah from Marketing and Louie, one of the graphic designers. The food was amazing and probably not anything I would ever pick out for myself, but I'm so glad they ordered the food because I got to try some dishes I normally wouldn't have! Loved that!!

I was so sad when Jess drove me back to my hotel. Like did not want to leave!! I'll have to go back on a vacation or maybe move there one day! I had such a great time and thank you everyone at Aldo Head Office for making my day amazing!! :)

I was too busy to take any photos while I was there, I literally took like 5. Which is so weird for me, next time there will be more!!

I've always strayed away from mock neck shirts and dresses, I thought they would make me look fat, but apparently they don't! I've been cutting something out of my wardrobe for so long without even trying it. What was I doing!!! Lesson learned.. try everything! That applies to clothes and to food which I learned in Montreal!

I also saw Moto jackets like the one I'm wearing everywhere in Montreal! Like literally could only find this Cheap Monday one at Ballistic in all of St. John's, and then I go to Montreal and they are in like every store. It was crazy!!

Also Thomas's Mom brought me back this adorable bow Kate Spade bracelet from Vegas when she was there last month, isn't it the most adorable?!
